Short Term Disability insurance provides employees the opportunity to protect their income should they medically be unable to work due to pregnancy/childbirth, injury, or illness.

Short Term Disability benefits are based on 60 percent of the weekly salary, up to a $1500 maximum, of their base pay for up to 26 weeks in the event they are unable to work due to an illness or injury and they are under the care of a physician. There is a 15 day elimination period that must be satisfied before benefits may be paid on the plan.
